December 2012

The old man trailed off again. He’d been silent for at least a full ten minutes. I was starting to wonder if this story had a happy ending or if I would ever hear it if it did.
Finally I nudged him with my foot a few times, until he stirred back into this dimension.

He smiled at me and asked, “Did I tell you the first time we fucked like bunnies?”

I shook my head and chuckled, silently begging the old man to continue his story.

“It was December, I think. In 2012.. The day the Aztecs said the world was going to end. I was living with my mother, and my wife even though we were separated, and my baby girl.”

How classy, I couldn’t help but think as he continued.

“I tried to leave my mother’s house several times, lord knows I was making enough money to do it, but my poor old mother always guilted me into moving back in..”

“How does the coffee girl fit in?”

“Oh my mother loved her. Juliet came over quite often.. She drove about an hour in the morning just to see me for a few minutes before I left for work at 6.”

I almost choked on my beverage. “In the morning?”

He nodded. “Then she spent all day helping my mother and didn’t usually see me again until after 8pm that night. Oh, but I was going to tell you about December!”

The man could drag a story out, for sure.

“For whatever reason, she didn’t come over that morning.. she didn’t come over until after I got home and started missing her. So I called her. And she came. My wife was there, naturally.. We three went to the grocery store.. can’t remember why. That’s the day I noticed every man who laid eyes on Juliet couldn’t help but stare. She was thin, toned, and hour glass curves like a Disney character.”

“I loved watching them be jealous,” he continued. “By the time we got home, I’d become so turned on I couldn’t contain myself. Right on the couch, in front of God, my wife, my mother if she chose to emerge, I started making out with my Juliet. And we started to get naked.”

I felt a lump in my throat and quickly swallowed, trying not to seem eager for more.

“Juliet was shy though..” Gilbert chuckled. “So I convinced her to go with me into my room and we closed the door. She was shaking like a leaf, so innocent.. But God did she taste sweet.. And she had no idea how loud she was until I had to quiet her down more than once.”

“You fucked her in your wife’s bed?”

“No, that was just foreplay. I fucked her later on the couch, then on the floor.. We didn’t get any sleep that night. Luckily it was a Friday night, and if the world was going to end, we were going to die happily buried in each other.”

Authors Note:
I was given a writing prompt from a… dear friend. Each ‘chapter’ is a new prompt. I for one, can’t wait to see how my friend fucks with my writing abilities…

She woke up in a strange bed covered in feathers and no memory of the previous evening.

She noticed she was sticky, feathers stuck in her hair on on her leg.. she was also half-dressed, and cold.

Where are my pants…

She was wearing a plain green tee that was falling off one shoulder, black Victoria’s Secret panties, and not-so-white ankle socks.

She sat up on her elbows and tried to take in her surroundings. She couldn’t focus her vision. Everything was spinning and blurry so she allowed herself to fall back down onto the bed.

Her vision kept swimming until total darkness engulfed her once more.

Lucky Penny (word vomit)

“I wonder why they went bankrupt.” John said causally leaning against the desk while Sue was sweeping up the office.
“I wouldn’t know..” She was busy, and bothered by this lazy flirt. “But their loss is our gain. I love this office space.”
“Oh look, a penny! Is it heads up?”
Trying to keep her eye roll from being noticed, she picked it up.
“Yes, and it’s pretty old.”
She put it in her pocket for convenience and completely forgot about it until hours later, when she was home with her son.
“Hey Jacob, I got an old penny for you! It’s good luck.”
She instructed her son to do his homework while she was cooking.
Something in class that day made Jacob think to look up that penny online. He was only seven, but he was an intelligent child. And he had grown up with technology all his life.
Using the family tablet, he read off the date of the penny into the voice search.
“Hey mom, what’s this mean?”
“What are you…”
She stopped when she saw what the penny was worth.
Ironic that the businessmen or women who dropped it had taken advantage of the bit of copper. It could have possibly saved them from bankruptcy, prohibiting Sue from claiming the space, and instantly becoming a multi-billionaire.
She would never have to work again, unless she chose to.

Magic’s Kryptonite

Rikki tugged on a red curl, sitting in the silent car. Her relationship with her cousin wasn’t bad.. they considered each other close friends, sister-like even.. but their parents had despised each other. Growing up around that was difficult to overcome. But now they had to.

They were the last of their families. They had no one else.

“Are you excited?” Viv asked trying to ease the tension, glaceing at her cousin.

“You know I enjoy being the center of attention..”

“Which is ironic since you hate it when people notice you.”

“What life is worth living if it isn’t a little ironic?”

“Like the fact that you’re in a play as Juliet and your mortal enemy is playing Romeo.”

“It’s an easy thing to turn hatred into passion. They’re both raw emotions.”

Vivienne stopped the car at the school and put it in park. They were early.

“Why do you hate Ben?” Vivienne asked.

“Honestly I don’t have the best reason. It started in kindergarten when he tripped me in the classroom. I face planted and forever accused him of doing it on purpose.”

Vivienne sighed. “You need to learn to forgive. Besides, he’s really friggin cute.”

“If you’re into Green Day, maybe..”

Vivienne looked at the palms of her hands and closed her eyes. The car grew colder, and ice started to form right above her right palm.. in the shape of a heart. It was smaller than an quarter.

“How did you…” Vivienne outstretched her hand toward her cousin. The ice wasn’t actually touching anything.

“Magic is held back when we refuse to grow. Our parents hated each other and refused to let their grudge go. They were the best druids according to the community at the time – yet they were the weakest in battle, and as a result.. they were the first to die..”

Rikki tore her eyes from the ice to see the pain in Vivienne’s curiously blue eyes. Normally, her eyes were brown. Rikki picked up the ice, and it turned into sand in her fingers.

“Pain is one thing. Harness it. Hate is another thing.. It’s a useless waste of head space.”

Later, stage right and all dressed up in costume, Rikki paced back and forth. Letting go of years of useless hate felt impossible. And would Ben even accept an apology.. She’d been pretty horrible to him over useless shit throughout the years.

She was staring at her feet, and ended up slamming into another human being causing her to lose balance and fall on her butt.

Ben really did look similar to Green Day, with messy dark hair and eyeliner. But now she didn’t just see the annoying little boy from kindergarten, but she saw a handsome young man around her age. Subtle blue eyes, a strong chin, and a sparkle in his eyes. She felt shock echo through her bones.

He halted, turned around, noticed it was her.. and his face changed from upset to sympathy. “I am so sorry Rikki.. I’m sure I didn’t see where I was going..” He extended his hand.

Rikki just sat there staring at him with her jaw nearly touching the floor. She felt the anger swell and immediately squashed it. Time to grow up and put kindergarten behind her.

She grabbed his hand, and stood while shaking out her dress.

“No, it was my fault.” She cleared her throat and tried not to meet his eyes, but somehow she got caught up in his whirlpool and they just stood there awkwardly, back stage.

“Well this is different.” He smiled, genuinely, and Rikki nearly melted. “Whatever you changed, it looks good on you. See you out there.”

And with that, he was gone. And Rikki, for once, was at a loss of words.

Jessi’s first..

It was noon. Jessi’s husband was out at work and her toddler was napping. She was waiting on a friend to message her back.. a very cute friend.

Her husband refused to move further than five minutes away from his parents, which happened to land them on a Christian college campus. And since he refused to teach her to drive or let her see her parents who were willing to, she had to walk everywhere in town.

She’d met Lance on the way back from getting groceries. He was tall, fair-haired, and looked like he belonged on a surfboard instead of the middle of Hell, Texas.

That day, he helped her carry her bags to her husbands house. Her daughter really took a liking to him. He fast became a good friend of hers, and she eventually told him all the truths of her husbands abuse.

She knew she was becoming attached to Lance, and she felt he liked her too.. But divorce was highly out of the question unless she could support herself, or find a man who could take on the challenge of a woman and her child.

She knew it was wrong to think about.. but she wanted it to be Lance.

They had been flirting.. and he promised to call when he was alone in his room for lunch.. around noon.

Finally, Lance did more than messaged her back. He called.

“Hey Lance..”

“Hey beautiful. How was your morning?”

“Productive! How were your classes?”

“Boring. I kept thinking about you, and calling you this afternoon.. God, you’re so beautiful. That jerk of a husband doesn’t know what treasure he has.”

She blushed. She’d never flirted over the phone before, but she felt she needed to go to her room.

Before she knew it, he was telling her all kinds of sweet nothings and her body felt hot. She had never felt so.. turned on.

She told him how he made her feel.. and he felt the same toward her. He even told her that thinking about her made his phallus swell.

“Touch yourself..” She said softly, almost out of breath.

“You too..”

“I’ve.. never..”

“I’m stroking myself thinking about your sweet kisses.”

She moaned as she slowly ran her hand down to her panties. She let her hand slip beneath the thin fabric and rub the mound

“Oh Jessi..”

She rubbed one spot, right above her slit. She thought of him kissing her neck, undressing her, kissing further and further down.

She didn’t know what it would feel like to be kissed here.

“Put your fingers inside..”

“Oh Lance I’ve never..”

“Think about me..”

“Okay..” She was shaking. She had never felt this good before, and she was scared of feeling even better.

She had never enjoyed sex with her husband, but just talking to Lance made her feel good.. and he was showing her how to feel good by herself.

Her fingers felt warm inside. It was a strange sensation but she couldn’t stop.

“Oh God Lance..”

“Jessi.. go slow right now..”

“I don’t want to..”

He let out a deep throat chuckle. “Okay.. then go faster.. you’re about to make me cum..”

“I think.. I think I..”

She let out a loud moan and tried to be quiet as the muscles in her vagina started to pulse around her fingers.

“Lance, I think I just came..”

“Good timing.. I did too.”

the coffee experience

I stared at Gilbert as he trailed off in silence. He had just told me an interesting tale about meeting some woman, and I was sitting at the edge of my seat, waiting for more.

The old man smiled wide and goofy, his eyes shining with some memory until I tapped him on the shoulder.

Hmm?” He blinked back the shimmer and came down to Earth. “Where was I?”

Did she ever call you?”

He scoffed. “It took her long enough, that’s for damn sure. My wife and I had broken up, but we were staying together for our baby. If only I knew then what I know now. But when Juliet called I was in a deep emotional hole.. but so was she. She actually tried to hang up saying it was a wrong number, but I managed to keep her on the phone long enough until I recognized her sweet melodic voice.”

The old man started humming to himself, his hands moving with the rhythm in his head.

The train track must have had something on it because there was a big dip in motion. Big enough to get Gilbert back on track.

Anyway, she called and offered to buy me a coffee which I accepted. Something told me I needed to see her and whenever I didn’t follow my instincts, things like my ex-wife happened.” He laughed heartily.

She arrived in a beautiful purple summer dress. Short enough to be flirty, low enough to be coy, with modest cap sleeves. She appeared rather nervous, which I took as a good sign.

She was surprised when I bought our coffees, and I told her that seeing her again was payment enough. Her freckled cheeks turned a lovely shade of red, and the rest of the afternoon was easy. We talked about everything, and nothing. We laughed together. At some point, we even talked about our ex’s. Her ex husband was the male equivalent of my ex-wife, only she had been trying to fix it when he cheated and kicked her and her baby out of their home.

She couldn’t help but cry as she told me about him, and I lent her a shoulder. We became best friends that day. She was always my best friend first.. A month later, I asked her to go steady. She was the love of my life, and I let her slip away.

Gilbert suddenly looked his age, older even.

I thought I was going to die.” His tone was defeated. “I got scared. I wanted to live my life. So I did some things I wasn’t proud of…”

magic runs in the family

Rikki stretched on the floor and waved her hand. With a small splash, a bubble of water rose from her glass. Feeling cheeky, she beckoned with her index finger and the water floated toward her lips.

“You are the laziest, cousin. I hope you don’t do that in public.” Vivienne rolled her eyes. Being older, she felt in charge and often took that to heart. Sometimes even a little far.

“Me? I would never. Honestly, when would I be so foolish?”

“When Ben gets on your nerves.” Vivienne replied instantly. Then with a smirk, “Like that time when the soda fountain mysteriously exploded in his direction.”

“That wasn’t me.”

“Yes, it was.”

“You can’t prove it was me.”

Vivienne shook her head and waved her own hand to manipulate the smoke from the incense. She liked to create images in the smoke. Today she felt like practicing the details. Just for fun, she choose a wolf and the image slowly emerged in wispy form.

Rikki and Vivienne were born into a family of druids. They had the ability to control nature, including the weather, the elements and sometimes animals. Even more infrequently was the ability to manipulate other humans.

Growing up, they were taught science, astrology, philosophy, history, astronomy, mathematics, science, divination.. Being a druid is not all fun and games. Druidism is knowledge. A desire to know, and to be, that has been passed down through the generations.

Their favorite pet, Tagger, currently a black cat, jumped on Rikki which made her squeal and drop her concentration. The result was a splash of water in her face.

“UGH!” Tagger started clawing her stomach as if giving a massage. Rikki sat up on her elbows, glaring at her pet. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you.”

“Oh please,” Vivienne chuckled. “You weren’t paying attention.

“He’s evil.”

“He’s a cat. Your cat.”

“If he’s evil he got it from you.”

“Yes, that makes total sense.” Vivienne gave up on her wolf with a frustrated wave, and glared at her younger cousin. “Your pet picked up the trait for evil from me.”

“How’s my makeup?”

“Over done, slightly wet.”

“Bitch. Are you about ready?”

“Waiting on you, slut.”

They stared at eachother until  the giggled bubbled out.
